ER2026 Call for Proposals

Embedded Recipes is a 2-day, single-track technical conference. Because of the single-track structure, we value a variety of technical topics so there is something for everyone, as well as opportunities to learn new things. Normal talks are 40 min (including Q&A) and "lighting" talks are 15 min (no Q&A)

Talk proposals for Embedded Recipes should be focused on open source software. Of particular interest to ER organizers and attendees are technical topics around publicly available software and tooling for IoT and embedded systems.

Important Dates:

  • CFP Closes: Feb 23, 23:59 CET (Europe/Paris)
  • CFP Notifications: March 23
  • Schedule announcement: April 6
  • Event dates: May 27-28, 2026

Suggested Topics

  • Operating systems & system software: Linux kernel, RTOSes (e.g. Zephyr), bootloaders
  • Trusted Firmware (OP-TEE, TF-A, MCUBoot, etc.)
  • Rust for embedded systems
  • Multimedia & Graphics
  • offload accelerators (AI/ML, image/video, etc.)
  • heterogeneous systems, AMP and complex SoCs
  • microcontrollers and FPGAs
  • Power Management & Performance: including new approaches to analysis, optimization & tuning
  • Real Time, Industrial & Automotive
  • RISC-V in Embedded/IoT
  • build systems and/or distributions focused on embedded (e.g. buildroot, Yocto, CoreOS, etc.)
  • Security: hardware and software
  • EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA): with focus on open source infrastructure and tooling to support CRA in real-world products.
  • config management with read-only root filesystem
  • system health maintenance and monitoring
  • manufacturing workflows, device on-boarding, etc.
  • AI at the edge

In addition, topics around the integration of any of the above topics into complex, real-world products are also interesting. For example:

  • Features missing in open source projects that were needed for real-world solutions
  • Challenges and/or lessons learned while working with the open source community
  • Boot time, memory footprint, system size, etc.

And finally, there's always room for wildcards. We are always open to creative topics not covered in the list above, so if you have a cool, creative and compelling idea, make a proposal and convince us!
